So glad for the improvements. As for the funds for the glasses, couldn't we just send paypal or similar? Would it be too public to post up your info for that purpose?

A local couple who runs our cruise nites had their house gutted by fire just before Christmas. They lost everything.
Our group the Hatboro Cruisers started a go fund me page.
Last check it was around 6 grand.

Half there to a set of specs???
If a go fund me page was started and advertised here, I bet you be surprised by the generosity. It's car people looking out for one another.

I do not know how many forum members we have but I believe it would be quite a significant donation if we could get something started.
Do we have any computer gurus that know how to start a go fund me page?
After all we are both former Marines, your son and I share the same first name and he needs to be able to see that tach when he's smoking the tires off that L-88
Marshal.

You have to be careful how you set it up. He may get the money and have to declare it as income on his tax. Happened to a friend of mine.

Thank you so much for your efforts .As I am working on the L88 and I am also seeing if there are any buyers for it also as Adam's health comes first. He has gained a little sight in left eye and tomorrow we are trying some temporary glasses with a prescription of +8.5 so we will see what happens . Surgery has been delayed on right eye as his blood pressure is way too high and he is taking medication that makes him very nauseous .He wants to go to Florida this weekend so we can pick up transmission for L 88 from overhaul shop. Hopefully temp. glasses will help him see some as he has never been there . Overall he is doing pretty good I try to keep him busy but sometimes it hard for all of us .He has had Type 1 diabetes for 19 years so he is used to up's ad down's
If enough money is raised to get the special glasses and then I do sell the L88 I will put all the money raised back in a form fund for further people that are in need of Money .
THANK YOU EVRYONE FOR THOUGHTS PRAYERS AND MONEY OFFERING .

Default Paypal

Couldn't we just send funds via PayPal as a gift?

Wes

Have you reached out to your town or neighboring town Lions Club or Lions International? I am the Acting President here in Deerfield Illinois. The Lions mission is to help those with sight and hearing disabilities. All it would take would be a letter to that club explaining your sons unfortunate hardship and your wishes. It is worth a shot. We currently send kids to blind camp for those kids to meet others with the same disabilities. Our club for example has vouchers for free eye glasses at Lens Crafters and eye exams. Every Lions Club is different though, but the mission is the same to help the sight and hearing impaired.
Here is a picture of a blind and deaf camp where we sponsor kids to attend and we also put out a really tasty BBQ for them. If you have any questions do not hesitate at all to send a pm. Good luck to your son and the project.
