Get rid of flip-up headlights

And won't be able to see as well, the way those lights sit back in the opening, blocks some of the light.
There are ways to change them to electric flip up if the vacuum system is what you are trying to get away from.

Well, everybody knows that vacuum sux, and those headlights with the lousy rubber witches hat seals on the canisters surely seal the fate, I had two sets on mine in the few years I owned them, then a Florida size deer ran out from in front of a minivan at night and I caught it square up in the headlights, and busted the living hell outta the entire setup....just as well, grew to hate them anyway....largest lament was damage to the very old show car paint job a Ditzler two stage burgundy look, old when I bought it in '95 and so I managed to blend in a field of gray from bumper to hood that blended in with the Shark on the hood, and install a set of the 'sugar scoops' pictured above.....
but the openings were just silly large, looked like hell, and putting plastic over it just accentuated the stupid look.....
When I was getting some powder coating done, the guy ahead of me was driving his Verizon work truck....and backed his huge hitch into the left front bumper by about 6" or so, so I took the $$$ payout and reduced the size of the holes by some 50% in the fore/aft measure.....
and mounted the later camaro bulbs forward about 1/2 way, using 1x2 vinyl and vinyl glue and stainless screws, mounting the bulbs using camaro hardware, junkyard style.... I ran out of painting ideas, and tried to fix the damage, but at this point, hell with it, shot the car green with black stripes and two tone black hood....see sites for pix....the car is entire custom, not one thing is stock, nothing.....

Here's what looks like a complete set on CL if this is what you are looking for. Not mine, I know nothing about them.

For about a 1/3 of the price I converted to the electric motors on my 77.
It was a fun project and they really work great.

Funny responses . Car will be worth 1/2 .. And you cant see with them ? .. I adjusted how these install by eliminating the plexi glass cover and mounting the bucket directly to the underside of the front nose.
Personally I like them a lot ..

There was a time when the conversion to those was very popular. I knew a guy who owns a Corvette shop who did lots of conversions. Saved all the old parts and made good money putting them back stock when the fad went away.
Popular enough for an aftermarket company to make a metal stamping and full kit to install it.

I like the look but I think the lights need a clear cover over them.

If your worried about resale stick to a numbers matching car. I would put my non- number matching C-3 with its mods at the upper end of resale headlight conversion and all.

When you do make sure all electrical connections are water resistant. The default was in the down position for the set I had and even though everything was proofed water mist got into it somewhere and around 10pm down they went. There was no manual override so I had to unbolt the bottom of the cylinder (by the interstate shoulder) and then figure out a way to hold them in the up position. Of course it couldn't happen close to the house. Took everything out and started to build my set the next day.

Depends which conversion you went with. The ford probe motors have a red **** on them. May take a lot of turns, but I can turn mine manually and make the headlight go up or down if I had to at night.
I really like the conversion, operates so much better and faster than the factory vacuum setup.
