It will fit, but not correctly. It doesn't match the door line along the bottom.

I put 77 rocker panels on my 78 because they are silver, ( I painted mine like a pace car ) and they're close, but you do notice if you look

I think you`ll find the length is different also.... I sold a nice pair of 80 rocker moldings because they were too short to fit my 71

The 80-82 rockers are shorter, than 70-77's. The later rockers were slightly shorter, to allow for additional clearance of the wider optional 60 series tires available from 78-82.

I disagree with righthanddrive about the profile being different though. All 69-82 door skins are the same, the shape of the rockers is the same, and the location of the mounting holes is the same also. The only difference in the rockers, is the overall length. The bends in the stamping, are in the exact same location on all of the rockers, and the relationship between the mounting holes and the bends, is the same too.

More likely, righthanddrive was working with a set of repro rockers, which are notorious for having the wrong profile. None of the repros that were first available, followed the doors correctly. The fit of the newer repros has finally been improved.

Thanks, after a bit of research it looks like the 80 moulding is 1-3/8" shorter. Does that sound right.

Sounds about right. I know it was just enough that I couldn`t use them. But, on the bright side, a forum member on the coast got a great deal on them!
