Hagerty's 1978 Pace Car Valuation
Hagerty insures my 78s so I got the newsletter and followed the link to learn about Hagerty's current valuation of the 1978 Pace Car. I found it rather informative including adds and deducts for various options (RPOs).
So forum members with questions about the value of this, that and the other, here is a starting point. Of course, its basis is auctions, which inflates the street value so be cautious when applying to your neighbor's barn find!

Good info. Thanks for posting. Checked out the linked vehicles and saw one offered by a dealer as a 78, but it had 79 emblems on the gas lid and steering column hub, and nothing on the front. Also saw one being sold privately as a 78, which was actually a 79.

Mine too. I've got insurance on both my 78 and 12 through the NCM. Just got the renewal notice for $693.00 for both cars, for a year. I did the Haggerty price quote based on what they say my cars are worth and their quote was over $1,100.00. Going to stay with NCM. Haggerty may exaggerate values in order to collect higher premiums.

Hagerty's is a starting point, but many of the valuations are just way off as compared to real world sales, much like NADA. People shouldn't get too married to referencing these numbers.

Value Adjustments
+$500 for close ratio 4-spd. -8% for auto trans. +$200 for pwr wndws. +$1,000 for a/c. +$1,850 for hard top. +$2,500 for pwr strg. +$500 for gymkhana suspension. +$750 for tilt/tele strng whl.
Would add $4950 to the value of my car, probably couldn't sell it for that much total!

Yeah, I looked up their valuation tool for mine the other day and about fell out on the floor at their exagerated values. I could only hope to get what they say mine is worth.
