Default WHAA! I can't find the horn on my '82!

No joke I spent about 2 hours today crawling up, under and around the front end of my '82 looking for the horn(s).

I have consulted the AIM, the service manual and on line. I can't find either the horns or a mounting bracket. I traced the wire harness and can not find a end that will plug into the horn.

Now, the PO did replace the front panel (I see the Ecklers tags) and possibly left the horns off.

Any where I can look again?

The horns are bolted to the support braces that are at the ENDS of the metal support beam that is GLUED to the underside of the top hood surround that your headlight actuator supports bolt to.

You can access the horn locations from the wheel wells and remove the black plastic/ rubber shielding that hides the side marker lights.

Look at this thread.

Thanks- I contorted my arm and felt/found them.

It makes no sense-- I'm not sure how you would service those things.

It sounds like most C3 repairs.

Simply by how I mentioned in my past post. They are serviced from the underside. AND not that hard to do...but may take a few fasteners to access.

You can service them from the top side with the hood open..because I have done that also...and that is a PAIN to do....but it still can be done.

Here is the picture I had on that thread... and a diagram that will help you once you find the horns if you are having a problem.
