Default Strange Hood Help (Pics)

My hood sits high on the front passenger front corner. The rest of the hood sits OK. How i don't see any way to adjust this. How can I drop the front corner 1/4 inch.

Hi W,
This one can be tricky.
Start by putting some washers (shims) under the REAR bolt on that side's hinge.
That has the effect of tipping the front edge of the hood down because the pivot point of the hinge is a couple inches in front of that bolt.
Give it a try?
Regards,
Alan

Are there any shims currently under the hinge?? A quarter of an inch seems excessive to me however.

I have the same problem all the way across the front on my '66. I was told to try shimming, but wouldn't that cause stress and possibly crack the hood in places???

Mr. Negative reporting. You're screwed, this should have been fixed before the car was painted. Even if you could drop that corner, the rest of the front of the hood would follow and be below the headlight panel. This requires cutting into fiberglass to make it right.
