Goodguy's heartland nationals - corvette content (and more)
The wife, my Brother-in-law, his girlfriend and two more of our freinds whent to the Goodguys Heartland nationals in Des Moines Iowa, yesterday. Sunday is 'All american Sunday' so as long as it is american made or american powered it can get through the gates, as opposed to their normal '72 or older rule. Saw some very nice vettes (many more than we have pictures of)
Love these prepared C2s!
Plent of newer vettes
Also had the pleasure of meeting Brent319 and his wife. Got a chance to take a good look at his beautiful car!
We decided to take the Lincoln because all six of us would fit and have room for a cooler and maybe a new windshield for the my 77.
The Goodguy's autocross is open to any registered 'show' car that passes tech and you don't need a helmet, plus you can take as many passengers as you have seat belts. It was a good opportunity to 'base line' the yacht. We all had a roit and the crowd LOVED it... they were actually cheering us on!
The REALY cool thing that happened is that Al Unser Jr. Was there driving the Speedway motors Camaro
He original parked one spot over from the Lincoln and we talked briefly.... he gave me props for attempting to autocross it and going to turn it into a 2017 Grassroots Motorsports challenge car!
Other than that the show good and the weather was great! Here are acouple things I thought you guys might like to see:

Goodguy's attracts a nice variety of cars/trucks especially if autocross is part of the event.
Thanks for the pictures.

2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (appearance mods)
C3 of Year Winner (appearance mods) 2019
I have been trying to get to a Good Guys show for years, but every time something comes up. I finally did this year and it was great. I parked the car and got in line to register and I heard somebody say, "you must be Brent". I turned around and that's when I met Chris.
Then we got parked. Our car is in the background across the street.
After I got parked I looked out and saw those 2 vettes across from us and a 72 Pantera drive by and I knew I was going to like it there.
Not a C3 but a beautiful 'vette.
Chris; great to meet you. I (like everyone else) enjoyed watching that big Lincoln motor around the auto cross.
I saw one of the cars you shared when I was in South Dakota at Non Supporting Vendor's shop and it was nice to see it done and winning an award.
I even got to ride in the NSV Corvette.
My wife and I had a good time so I am sure we will be back next year. I am looking forward to doing the show in LaClaire with Chris and anyone else who will be there.
Oh, and a picture that Chris took with my phone turned out well and is one of my favorites now.

I am glad you all enjoyed the pics!
Though I really thought hooning around in almost 5000lbs of 'merican iron would garner more response around here... maybe everyone is just being polite?
Andy: We will get to meet up sometime. I figured Sunday would be tough for you, but I wasn't sure about Saturday. How did the parade go?
Brent: I am looking forward to getting to hanging out with you guys in August! I am also glad you like the picture I took for you... however it looks like I could have centered it better. The Pantera and that yellow C2 have been there the past couple of years and are two of my favorites as well. Did you happen to snap detail pics of that flat black camaro with the wide 5s? I posted our 'drive by' pic on another forum and they are going crazy!
Richard: GoodGuys brings out A LOT of nice stuff, You get yours done and it will fit right in... plus you could attend the whole weekend if you wanted
It's funny you mentioned the welder, If we make it to the GRM challenge next year I had already planned on throwing the 110 MIG and the plasma cutter in the trunk for the trip
