For Your Consideration - Paint Alternative

Burning Brakes
the desired graphic is designed/scanned into a computer program. the part to be wrapped/overlaid is 3-d scanned and uploaded as well. The software dimensions the image to fit the contour of the part to look proper. it took us quite a few iterations to get the graphics just right on our product, but that was 15 yrs. ago, and I am sure the technology has only gotten better. if you lay the graphic out flat, it looks ridiculous, but once it is installed it looks as anticipated.
I too am interested in wrapping my C4. getting clear coat fade on the rear, and a couple cracked sheets of paint on the door ready to fall off. car is a driver and would be worth less than a proper re-spray, not to mention it would be super cool to do something other than a solid color, some stripes would be neat...definitely going to follow this thread for inspiration!

Yea, this whole thing has enlightened me! Like Mooser said, thanks for having us along. I can't believe the orange plasti dip either! Wow...
btw, I really liked the white car with black top and sail panels. Would've been hard for me to cover that up.

While I was at Carlisle I took the opportunity to Adam Pitale, Owner and Founder of Adam's Polishes, about the vinyl wrap I have placed on this car. I have spoken to Adam at previous car shows and he has assisted me with my 71 Sparty car so I trust him and his products.
Adam saw pictures of the 72 race car replica and he was impressed with the work and shocked to learn it was a wrap. My purpose for speaking with him was to get his guidance on using his products on the vinyl. He told me the detail spray and his wax products work well on the vinyl and to use the same products I have been using on my painted car, Sparty. Detail spray and waterless wash are my two go-to items for Sparty, so those will be used on the vinyl as well.
I can not comment on other companies products but if you would like to know I would suggest you ask them and get their input.
If you would like more information on Adam's Polishes you can google their company name and get more information.
Thank you and best regards,
David Howard
