Default Big Block hood (long version)

Does anyone have a bb long version hood on a 73-82 corvette? If so post pic please. I remember the now defunct vendor Vanacor Corvette parts made them.

Do you mean the L88 hood which eliminates the wiper doors?

No stock BB/LT-1 hood but long version. Defunct Vanacor corvette made the type I'm intereste4d in. Wish I bought one.

I have a BB/LS3 hood on my 73, out of state right now but can get a pic when I get back. I believe it to be the org that came with the car.

I wanted this same look but realized that a long lt1 hood would have to be cut back or flared at the rear somehow to clear the wipers, and match the fender edges. Did someone actually make one of these? The LT1 hood with the bar in the middle and flat towards the back? I thought about fabbing one myself but really don't have the time.

This style hood right?

that be the one. The defunct Vanacor Corvette made the long version. Son killed father 13 years ago. Business changed to other family members, had a fire and then went out of business 3 years ago.

I got one of the last hoods from Vanacor before they closed. Taller than the factory big block hood. I can stack a pair of 3" air filters on a BB intake/carb and still have some space. I'll admit the intake is the almost flat LS-6 model.

Well since Tim posted, I'll show the hood I bought from him a while back. This is from a 69 however, so I'm not sure, Oldguard, what you are hoping to see in a picture. Tim was unsure of the original supplier but back when I was looking for one of these I thought I saw a near identical hood available from Corvette Central, maybe.

Hood as received. I did some reshaping and filling and after paint it looks terrific.

Old guard, check this out...

May be the only alternative, and actually I'd rather have this I think. Waiting to hear back from Rajin Cajun as to where he got it. Can't find anything about it on the net.

Yup probably. Vanacor ran an ad on their website and paper ads that they can make the stock BB/LT-1 hood for later C3 corvettes. I called them in 2005 and they said they could make one for my 79. I could not afford it back then. I wish I could have bought one then.
