My New (old) Corvette
I have owned Corvettes from Generation 4, 5, 6, and now 7 but I have always wanted a C3. I finally pulled the trigger on this one last Monday. It has 49100 miles and spent its time in California and Nevada. It was a 1 owner car that was owned by a lady who received it as a college graduation gift from her parents. she passed away last November and I purchased the car from her widowed husband.

Hi C,
That looks like a very nice 72!
I hope you enjoy your experiences with it and that it gives you lots of pleasure.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
I notice in the compartment photo that the ignition shielding is missing.
This isn't a big deal but if you don't have it you may want to check with the folks you bought the car from. It could be sitting around and would be nice if it stayed with the car.

I just crawled underneath (the edge) of the car, expecting to have at least 1 uh-oh moment. I was aware that the exhaust was orginal and probably would need to be replaced, and I confirmed that.
Other than that, the frame seems to have no rust at all, not even surface rust. I do not yet have an owners manual (one is on order) so I do not know how to lower the spare tire bucket, but from what I can see it APPEARS like the spare may be original and maybe never been on the road. it is kind of a square edged tire similar with old fashion wavy tread pattern. I need to clean underneath the car to get a better idea about the leaf spring and differential. (there is a little oil on the rear end) but it looks to be serviceable. Anyway, so far it seems to be good news.
