74 tach cable clip ???
My inner cable broke and I cannot pull out from the distributor end. I need to disconnect the cable from the back of the tachometer. WHICH WAY do I press on the clip ???? Push towards front of car....or "pull" towards toward rear???? If I can push the broken cable through I will be all set.
Thanks.....
Thanks.....

the clip needs to be pushed against the back of the tacho housing.
sometimes it really helps if two people do this , you with your hand/fingers up at the clip and a buddy pulling the cable from the engine bay as most times you cant get enough of your hand in there to do both .

Hi f,
B's right, push in on the bottom 'prong' of the clip to release the cable.
When you reinstall the cable it just needs to be pushed into place, it sets itself…. you'll hear the clip click when the cable is in place.
Regards,
Alan
This is the clip on the speedometer. The one on the tachometer is the same.
