Default 68 Big block sold. Going to N.C.

Well I made the difficult decision to reduce the number of cars I own. It was sold to a gentleman (Dan) in North Carolina. Hate to see it go but I had a great 10 years with it. Hope Dan enjoys it as much as I did. Intercity picked it up today for the trip South.

It really does. I kind of agonized over which car was going. I was just determined to reduce my numbers. A bit less to take care of, but I will miss it alot.

Hi cv,
I can imagine how you feel!
Just briefly… how did you find the buyer?
Pretty bb car! He's got something very nice coming his way.
Regards,
Alan

While I like all of your cars, I really liked that one. At least you still have several others. I get the part about simplifying things.

I understand your reasoning in thinning the heard. There is always some mixed emotions especially when you have a history with the car. I'm sure the new owner will appreciate having a nice '68 big block Corvette with great colors.

Let's try to concentrate on what you kept. If the '68 was the one you let go, the remaining collection must REALLY be something special!

I would have been crying like a baby as the transport truck drove away. She was a beaut. I hope it went to a good home.

Hi Alan,

I had the car listed on Craigslist for a while and ultimately E-Bayed it. It met reserve but sold for far less than I expected. Very nice, original 427/390 Lemans Blue coupe. The new owner is very excited and should have the car Thursday. Now I can finally use the lift in the garage for it's intended purpose. I always had one in the air so I could fit 5 cars in the barn.

I kept my 65 which I've owned for 45 years. Kept my 61 that I've owned for 35 years. Kept the Viper GTS coupe and my new Z06. I'm lucky to have what I own, I just find myself maintaining and fixing things all the time.

61 and 65

Congratulations on the sale..obviously you gave it great consideration.
I can appreciate downsizing a bit, multiple cars can be a bit overwhelming.

Hopefully the next guy will enjoy it as much as you did. I still have an ear to ear grin every time I drive one of my vetoes...now my 2 year old screams to go for a ride in one of them almost every day.

The guy buying it seems like a terrific guy. He's very excited about it. He also has a 70 SS 396 Chevelle that will sit next to the Vette.

When my kids were young they loved to go for rides. They always asked me to get on it. They would say: "Can you make me stick to the seat." Still take them out once in a while even though my girls are 28 and 32. They still ask me to make them stick to the seat
