Hi Wes,
The routing of the harness and the vacuum hoses varied from year to year if you want to be accurate you really need to see photos for the particular year you're working on.
Here are some pictures from my 71. Right off the bat this is different than a 70 because of the location of the wiper door vacuum relay and the 2 hard vacuum lines transversing the firewall instead of hoses varies from a 70.
But maybe these will be of some use.
Regards,
Alan

Pictures always help even if they are a little different.sure a lot of vacuum hoses in this old 70 although by reacing all of them it helps to understand how this system works.Biggest problem I have run into was vacuum relays leaking although soaked them in some auto trans sealer and for now they came back to life
Thanks
Wes

Alan's pictures are awesome, I'm not sure if there is any differences I've not look at the part applications on this. Here are the diagrams from the AIM for 1970. I have a 70 with most the original hoses on it but the cars in storage so that won't help.

Thank you for the pictures although my 70 has the wiper vacuum relay on the firewall ?? If sometime it would be possible to look at your 70 Please let me know as the A.I.M is not real clear sometimes
Thanks again

You're probably okay. The wiper door vacuum relay was moved to the firewall during the 1969 model year.

Hi Wes,
It appears from you're photo that the wiper door relay is mounted on the firewall near the master cylinder.
This is where I'd expect to typically see it on a 70.
The location of that relay has a big effect on the vacuum hose routing on the firewall.
You can understand how the routing would change when the relay is mounted on the rear side of passenger's side apron.
Regards,
Alan
These 4 hoses are on their way to the relay on the apron on a 71.

Yes I got confused when Wilcox sent me the schematic showing '70 being in the same place as yours so it looks like G.M.started in 68 putting it on right fender well then moved it to firewall then back to fender well.My 70 is not an NCRS car so I am just trying to make hoses and wires look a little better
Thanks
For assistance

Couple of things.Does your 71 have the brass washer tubes on the wiper arms?if do you have a picture mine were off laying in a box when I bought my 70 corvette.
Also in that same box was a(what looks like part of a metal relay .It says Littlefuse Inc. And part #3961573 I think it mounts just to right of wiper motor in my pic I posted
Thanks
Wes

Hi Wes,
Here are the details on the washer tubes and plastic clips.
There were 4 varieties of clips and the number on the arms often varied…..3 or 4 each side.
The Paragon Reproductions site has a nice drawing showing where the clips typically were, and photos of the clips themselves.
Regards,
Alan
