Default Rear End is Back Together

Finally have the rear end of my 79 back together after about 2 months. It's been a long time coming but I'm getting closer to having it on the road.

Before:

After:

Obviously have a way to go before it's all complete, but this is a huge step forward.

Looks good. I'm in the exact same position myself. Took everything apart a couple months ago with intent to only rebuild the diff. Turned into rebuilding the diff, driveshaft/halfshafts, trailing arms, new gas tank, and partial fuel line... "while I'm at it."

Just a reminder that the expert members told me.......do not torque the 4 bolts that hold the springpack to the differential case UNTIL the wheels are installed and the car is sitting on the ground with all it's weight on the rear wheels.

This will prevent the case from cracking at the four threaded locations.

Wow awesome job MobileGreg, made a huge difference. All I done over the last few days was shim my rear rotors and that's a big enough job for me

Keep the updates coming mate.

Thanks. As for torquing, yes I had read that also so once it's on the ground I'll get them all torqued up.
