I'm not sure which car you are referring to but the Penske car is the first factory L88 and is the original prototype. No other car was fitted with an L88 before it. This is the car DG assembled his race team with through Duntov for Penske. They raced with the Wintersteen GS car as well that year. And the Sunoco GS roadster. Those three cars had the strange prototype hood. The sunoco coupe had the modified rear fenders to fit bigger tires (but made to look stock to comply or should I say circumvent the rules, but the GS cars did not race in the same class so didnt need to look stock)

I am very curious which car you mean.
