Default 68-73 rear bumper bracket/frame measurements needed please

I'd appreciate it if someone could provide me measurements to locate the hole(s?) for the location on the frame for this 68-73 rear bumper bracket (#29013 in the picture below):

As I know the rearmost frame crossmember is different on my 79 frame from a 68-73 frame and I'm not sure if its in the same place on the two frames so please measure back from the crossmember just behind the differential shown by the yellow arrow in the picture below to the centre of the hole(s) for the bumper bracket and from the top or bottom of the frame rail to the centre of the hole(s)

Bazza77, could you please put the start of the tape measure on the other side of the crossmember (the right side in your first picture)?

Also, the hole on the left appears to be higher on the frame than the hole on the right. Could you please show a measurement from the top of the frame for that hole as well?

Thanks, What I was after was for you to put the start of the tape measure on the driver's side of the frame at the place shown by the yellow arrow. Sorry I wasn't clear.

I KNOW , I use a Samsung tablet as a camera and trying to hold a twisty tape and push the button and hold IT all at the same time , at least I spared you a close up of my big toe

Priya,

Not to highjack your thread...

When I removed my rear bumpers, I did not have an inner brace rod OR an outer bracket. Just large holes with apparent damage on the sides, passenger side did not even have a bolt and seemed to be only supported by the rear bolts (no rod).

Should I get these parts to secure the bumper when we reinstall after paint is complete?

No problem Nicole. I am not certain of which parts you are referring to but if you are going by the names used in the diagram I posted in my first comment then yes you should get those parts to reinstall your bumper. BEFORE you paint you should repair the oversize holes and test fit the bumper with the brackets you're missing. If you're referring to part #'s 29014 and 29015 in the diagram above those brackets were only used on 72&73 cars and your car if earlier would not have had them from the factory. I think they're a good idea to install for additional support if you have an earlier car but if being "factory correct" is important to you you would leave them off.

Hi c1n,
P's correct, for 69 cars there was no bumper bracket for the side bumper bolts on the quarter-panels.
The bolts simply passed through a hole in the fender.
An assortment of flat washers were used so that as the bolt was tightened it didn't crush the fiberglass.
Regards,
Alan
