I am sure they just spec'd a similar size can from a can supplier. all it takes is the forming, lidding, and seaming machines. while the process is exactly the same, the spec's are completely different. GM didn't buy "juice" cans and adapt them to corvette's anymore than they bought garden hose and adapted to the heater core...

The workers on the corvette assembly line developed a taste for fruit punch after Chevrolet spiked the punch with caffeine to increase production after the 79 record breaking sales year. They had to get rid of the evidence after the auto workers union caught on. So they incorporated all the left over cans into vacuum system and the rest is history.

No, its a Heinz Tomato can.
