Default Is this an original 1979 rear bumper?

I have a 1979 parts car that has a rear bumper on it that I really like but can't find one on any other I've seen . It has a spoiler that is part of it but not separate from it and I'm curious if it will fit on my 1977! today!

The spoiler part of it starts where it bolts up to the deck and I can go and get a pic of that if needed for identification!
Thanks for any help on this!
P.S. The blonde already wants to know which one can she drive lol!!

No, it's not an original '79 rear bumper. A spoiler was available in '79 but it was bolt-on. Also the "CORVETTE" script is not factory. I have no idea if it will fit a '77 but will venture to say that if vendors mention rear bumpers fitting '77-79 (or the like) that it will.

Like an 80 but the spoiler is different,
If its bolted on to the donor should bolt to any 74-82,

Tell blondie to grab a wrench and then when she gets a DL she can drive one...

The script was done by the airbrush artist that did the flames on the front of the car ! Had a feeling it would fit and love the fact it won't look bolted on !

Didn't think to look at the 80-82 model ! I like the way it looks compared to any other I've seen just cause it doesn't look bolted on like an afterthought! Not that a bolted one in itself is that bad I just haven't seen one that I care for till I saw the one on the donor I picked up last week ! Now the blonde worked all day that day helping clean shop so they both could be tucked inside safely inside ! I told her along with the DL she also must do her chores and keep a good grade average in school between now and then ! Haha! From the looks of it we may see each other sometime in the future ! I live not too far from you in Kissimmee and I'm going to try to save the flame job on the hood with some little changes and add the rest back in on my doors and the front! I still have a lot to do yet just to make it a drivable car yet though! Thanks for the info !😎

The factory rear spoiler for '78-79 was bolt-on.

Given that you want to keep both the rear spoiler and airbrushed front clip you may want to re-evaluate which is the "parts car". A lot of the '77 interior is one-year-only with parts in the "unobtanium" realm.

The fiberglass on the hood is in better shape and the spoiler and bumper are one piece but more of mine is there than is missing ! Mine still has the original motor and tranny and been inside for the last five years . While the other has been outside for awhile now with no glass in it at all in Fl. Here it tends to rain somewhere almost everyday! Besides if it were easy anyone could fix it ! I'm a little different from some . I'm not trying to make this a NCRS kind of car but it should hold its own in any crowd when I'm done with it ! Mostly I want a great looking car that I can drive all the time cause I don't want to drive my trailer to any cruise in ! Lol
The paint work on the hood I could easily just make black again but it's an easy job to save it for me so I figure why not! I also have a motor that is going in at least for now that is ready to rock and roll compared to the 180 hp motor that is there now! I've also bought a pair of leather seats from another member here that look brand new ( I think they came from his car when he put in the Recaro's ) that strangely enough came from a "79" About the only thing I don't have yet are the door covers , shifter cover and the panels from the floor up toward the shifter plate and whatever surprise pieces that I may run into that I don't know that I need yet! All that being said I'll probably stick with the 77 as it's also a good match with my 77 Harley Lowrider !

I'm getting a real education in the financial side of this too ! Mine being a 77 I can't see going thru all that but for a 72 or older I would have figure some way to make it happen but I think you may be right about getting a donor car ! Even if the donor had a four speed in it I probably wouldn't go thru all for a 77 but it's hard to second guess something I don't have ! I loved it when my 67 Nova SS had the four speed in it but it came with it and all I changed on it was the shifter ! It still had the factory Muncie in it and I got a Hurst 2+2 for a c-note from a friend who had the same car ! Maybe my next Vette will be a little older and if so I'll want it to have the four speed in it ! Like you I plan to use the few parts on the donor that I can and trade , sell cheap, or give away what I can't! Just what I'm using on it I've already saved what I paid for it! If you need anything let me know ! Lol

In the 30 plus years of putzing with these cars i have seen trends come and go, we will likely never see tacky 70s customs again they have been replaced with restro mods that are just as modified but in a different vein and then one starts to notice most c3s are mods, sure a few pristine low mikes and or rare c3s stay stock but the majory are saying i want a car to be a car and get driven and are building that,
When i was shopping the must was convertible but i almost bought a 75 likely the most unloved of the convertible c3s, year didnt mean a thing, all are shark bodies and all can be made to look like any other year, some takes more work than others,
So since gm didnt build my perfect c3 i am...

Having champagne taste on a water budget I had all but given up on owning a Vette and I had to stop at my shop one night at about 1:00 am getting ready to drive back to Tampa the next morning . That's when I saw mine about two doors down . Took about 3 weeks before it was in front of my shop cause they gave me a price I just couldn't refuse! It's crazy how all of just seemed to happen but I figure it's as good a place to start as any. Wish I could've gotten the 62 that I helped my former boss restore for a customer though . Guy bought it for 5 k cause someone stole and wrecked the front end and owner just couldn't deal with the fact that it was wrecked and it would never be the same to him ! He was the original owner which I think was why it bothered him ! I don't know why I just seem to like the older stuff more than the new ! Not that I don't like the new it just doesn't do that much for me!

I dont know if it's the same but different type thing but reminds me of a funny as all hell happening at old town cruuse durning the ncrs neet when it was held there,
My custom 66 was the only primered car allowed at the old town cruise, i had good parking spot and it was fun the sea of people having a great time, then a gaggle of curmudgeons who from their dress were there for the ncrs stuff, ( not all ncrs guys are like this thankfully, some have better things to do ) all the guys see my modded car but only one cared, he comes braying over, yelling and hooting about the ruined 66, he is just getting louder as his buddies obviously a little embarrassed how he was acting were trying to get him to move on,
When he saw the interior, a mix or custom parts and basically looking like a place rat fink would call home he really looses it, starts in snaring and cussing about the @$%^& who would ruin a 66, my buddy steps up tells the guy relax maybe the owner likes it, that just made him more angry,
It actually took one of the attendents to tell him the old town cruise is a fun family event if he cant behave leave or he will be escorted out, his friends drag him off, he looks like a big dbag.

I learned a lot from that, some fellows want their car, house, even themselves to be just another slice of wonder bread, they need that so badly that in some cases when a fellow wants to think out side the box and be himself have personalize stuff it threatens wonderbread so badly they have to diss, trash talk even at times like the fellow at old town make a complete braying jack *** of themself.
