Stingy74:
If you don't mind me asking, why are you getting rid of the 4.11s? Are you going with a lower gear or a higher gear?

While I'm asking questions, how do you like those Mickey Thompson ET Streets? Do they hook very well? My buddy is running a set of them on his 454 Camaro and he loves them...which is why I'm considering running them on my 'Vette.

Bence:

I've made some rough calculations and with my 28" tall slicks i'll need a lower gear (larger numerically) to be closer to redline as I cross the finish line. The 4.56's should be here real soon.

Actually Bence, the slicks I have are M/T ET Drags. There basically the same wrinkle wall slick as an ET Street but they have no tread and are made of a softer L8 compound as opposed to the M5 compound in the ET Street tire. I wish I could tell you how they work but I can't because I haven't used them yet. All the race guys around where I live use the ET Streets but I bought the ET Drags brand new at a swap meet for an unbeleivable price. I don't think you'll be sorry with the slicks on your Corvette, but (here's a mispelling) inevitebly something is going to break if you hook up your projected amount of torque on a regular basis. Or you'll won't and you'll wonder why stuff isn't braking  anyway, I wish you the best of luck on your project. I wish I could be going at the same rate as you!! :)

How long did you run these gears and did you get them new or used? I have a freshly rebuilt 4.56 pumkin that I have been to scared to put in, I need something just a little less radical.
