A hard to find carb.....I lucked into one (core) for 50$
, but my suggestion is don't worry about the date code. it was on the base which is completely interchangable with any q-jet from that period. Good Luck! Try Custom Rebuilt Carburetors in NJ. You'll pay for it but it will be perfect.

After two years of searching, saving and waiting, I finally broke down and bought a restored carb off of Ebay - 7028219. It wasn't cheap and I feel kind of stupid spending so much, but I wanted it so it's a done deal.

I have been searching for one of these for 3 years now......they pop up on ebay every so often, but go for at least $500 (depending on condition they can be more).
I'm still waiting for my needle-in-the-haystack find like avalonjohn found.
