L-88 / LS-6 Aluminum Heads - 3946074
I have a pair of 3946074 heads that I would like to sell and replace with modern heads. I am not building a numbers matching car. These heads ran well on my 427 and I had no detectable leakage from the valves during my leak down test. I am not a pro, but the valve sealing surfaces are shinny all the way around and appear to be good. These valves are in good shape and these heads appear to have had a valve job during the last rebuild (~5000 miles).
The heads are in good condition with no major flaws. I cannot identify any areas of repair, other than heli-coils in most of the intake threads and a couple of exhaust threads. All bolts were tight when I removed these, except for one intake bolt. This will need a heli-coil.
There appears to be some very light clean up in the intake port and no porting in the exhaust. This may not be porting, but clean up from when the valve seats were installed.
The casting dates are both July 11, 1968 (07118).
I would like $2500 for the set.
I can send pictures if interested.

I just figured out that they used a different date coding scheme in 68. My heads are dated 7/11/68 (07118). The fact that both heads had the same number made me think it was something other than a date.
