FS - Seat Frames/"Clam Shells" - 1979-1982
For sale - complete seat frames (top, bottom, and hinges - driver and passenger) for 1979-1982. Excellent condition with no cracks - current color is black (a quick coat of interior paint will make these look new - compare to almost $900 for unpainted new frames w/o hinges). Also included is a brand new chrome acorn nut set. $300 plus shipping.

I'm surprised I haven't seen much interest in these. At half the cost of unpainted new shells (plus these have hinges), seems like a great deal.

The Clam shells do not have tracks. The price was just for the clam shells with hinges. I actually bought new seat foam that I was going to sell separately. I was trying to have custom fabric put on it, but the shop turned out to be quite incompetent. The foam is still unused and has new fabric on it; however, they did not properly shape/shave the seat foam to fit in the shells, so it is not a perfect fit. I would be willing to get rid of that stuff for cheap and can send pictures. The foam was bought new from Ecklers.

I can't be positive, but I am pretty sure they do. If 78 were the same as 79, then I would say yes. I know they didn't fit my 69 tracks, but it didn't take much to fabricate adapters and use the existing tracks.

Keep in mind these can be fitted to any C3 (just need to modify a set of tracks). Great upgrade to early C3 seats... much more support and still look like they belong in the car.

I might be interested in the shells, covers, foam and fabric. I just bought a '72 coupe that needs the interior redone. How much for everything? I'm sending you a PM
