FS: 1978 Borg Warner Super T-10 Four Speed
For sale is a 3.42 1st gear Borg Warner Super T-10 four speed. This transmission will work in just about any GM application. It is a 26 spline input gear and 32 spline output shaft. This transmission would work great with a car that has highway gears such as 3.08 or 2.73. With a 2.73 rear end this transmission would be the equivalent to running a close ratio Muncie (2.20 1st) and a 4.24 differential. The transmission is currently in my ‘71 Chevelle. It up shifts, and down shifts, smooth as can be. No extra noises, and no defects. It really is a great working four speed.
I would say this particular transmission is in very good shape. This four speed would be a welcome addition to a car that is running a high rear end differential. It would also work just to get that much more acceleration with an intermediate gear like 3.31’s or 3.42’s. The transmission has new gaskets and seals. The bearings (Roller and needles) were replaced less than 1500 miles ago.
The price I am asking for this transmission is very reasonable. It works every bit as good as transmissions I have completely rebuilt, and the price is several hundred dollars less than what one would expect to pay for a completely rebuilt transmission. As soon as someone commits to buying it I will remove it from my Chevelle. You can rest easy knowing that you are getting a fully functional transmission for your car.
Here is a link to all photos I took.
