Ask your favorite auto shop pros when the Snap-On dude will make his next stop.

Seriously, that's all my mentor Alex uses. He swears by the snap on body tools. They really are that well made. I use them daily at the shop. I just bought 3 used snap on hammers on ebay a few weeks ago...but I still need the above items.

I agree with your mentor as I have a set of Snap-On hammers and dollies I've used for nearly 30 years, and the hammers are unrivalled as far as I am concerned. But as a practical matter dollies are simply chunks of steel used to back the work being straightened. I have an assortment of Harbor Freight dollies and I swear I cannot see any difference in the quality of panels backed by my vintage Snappy dollies vs those backed by the Chinese stuff.
Buy the one hammer you need from your local Snap-On truck and try some "Import" dollies to ease the pain of the premium hammer. I think your panels will never know the difference.

I'd like to purchase the snap on hardened ones. I'm going to open up my own shop one day, and now is the right time to collect quality tools.

That’s the right attitude allright. A true craftsman considers a tool purchase to be a lifetime investment.
Jeremy, you might want to post your wants on the Garage Journal www.garagejournal.com There are a lot of “tool junkies” there; and a lot of high quality tools are bought and sold on that board.

Am I the only one thinking that if all the people who subscribed to Stinger's restoration thread would donate a buck of two, this young hard working forum star could afford lifetime tools for his restorer career?
That would be a ridiculously small price for all the entertainment he's providing.
I'm in for 5$

Taking pictures and documenting all the work is as much work and aggravation as the physical labor, if not more so. Hats off to you , Jeremy!!! And to Denpo for starting this. I'll see your 5 and raise you 2 (Lucky 7). Let me know how we are gonna get the funds to our friend.

We've all watched this kid full of determination and some well developed skills persevere and inspire us to keep plugging at our own projects. He has not only moved his resto along but took all of us along for a very detailed ride.

I really appreciate all of this guys, I really do. Remember, this money isn't going to booze. I don't waste my money on that. I'd rather spend it on my future. I work on Mustangs, Chevelles, old GMC trucks, GTO's...lots of metal cars. Alex told me to start buying more metalworking tools - I'm going to need them the rest of my life when I have a shop someday.
And yes, I plan on "finishing the thread" and the vette. So keep watching!
I have a paypal address. Its...
