From the NCRS TDB:
"This is a very difficult fan blade assembly to find. It is a Corvette-only piece and it was used only for big blocks with C-60 during 1971-73. The part number is GM #3992095 and that number will be usually be found stamped on one or all of the blades. It can easily be mistaken for a GM #3969926 or GM #3993889 (the 1970 with 454 and C-60 fans) unless one checks the number, checks the bolt pattern (3" bolt circle for 1970 fans; 3-1/4" bolt circle for 1971+ fans), or checks the center hole size (2-3/8" hole for 1970 fans; 2-5/8" for 1971+ fans). Although the blade configuration is similar between all of the fans, the 1970 and 1971-73 are NOT interchangeable unless one changes other parts, too."
"1971 Corvette did use a one-year-only fan clutch, GM #3991426. It's very difficult to find. The part number is not stamped on these units."

These are original parts for the conscientious 1971 LS-5 Corvette owner that wants their Corvette to be brought back to its originality with the goal of restoration in mind.

On eBay a 1971 fan clutch alone is listing for $275. And those C-3 Corvette owners in the know also know that the dated tipped fan blades are extremely hard to find. $300+ a piece is about average now. I paid $275 for my 1970 tipped fan blade (dated B70) over five years ago. I found it right here on the Corvette Forum.

Can I buy this? According to posts above, I think NO. Can someone give imput as I have a 1970 454 with AC that I need a fan (as one of my blades cracked). So, if I check the fan blade and it has a part number stamped on it, it has to match the .. 095? But if mine is a ...926 or...889 then its a NO GO? I will check my numbers and post them, but if anyone has thoughts, let me know.

Scott, that is a fantastic price for those two pieces. Someone will be getting some really nice parts.
I'm going to check with $tingray and see if these dates will work for him.

Thanks, Cliff. We think it is a great price for the pair. On eBay the dated SC fan clutches are listing in excess of $200. At Corvettes at Carlisle I understand from an NCRS member that a "dog" of a tipped fan blade was priced at $300. This fan clutch works and the fan blade is in excellent original condition.

Im out of luck. Mine are stamped B70 with number 3969926 and my clutch is A 5 12 70 SC. I still need this set up so if anyone out there knows of anyone that has the fan blades (with or without clutch), please let me know.

Thanks Cliff, No I don't need this one. I need one dated late 69 or Jan 70, as my car is a Feb. 2, 1970 built car. I have a 3992095 fan dated L72 and 2 clutches dated 8/22/70 and 10/28/70 that I am going to use until I find the right one for mine. My water pump has both sets of holes in the shaft flange.
