Default WTB : 70 Amp Alternator for 81 Corvette

I am looking for a 1101075 70 amp alternator for my 81 Corvette. It needs to be for June built car. I believe a dated one from March, April or May of 1981 will work.

I'm (not) looking for a restored one. A good clean working or non working core will be fine.

Thanks !

Stellar thanks for your reply ! I think the one you have is for a 1980. I believe it would decode as follows.

06 = day
04 = month - April
0= year - 1980

Looks to be a year to early. If it was for 81 I would be intrested.

I have one that came off my '81 I'm restoring, I plan on replacing it just for good measure because I'm not doing a factory original restore. I'll check tonight and see what is has for numbers, it may not be original to the car, I'll have to check for you.

Hello is 7161 a correct date code for you?

I am parting out an 81 that I just got yesterday.

If I'm reading the date code right, it would be as follows.

7= July
16= day
1 =81

That would contradict what I said in post # 3 when I decoded that date code for that alternator. I believe I may have had the month & day backward in post #3.

That being said, your alternator is three weeks later than my car was built. If I'm not reading these date codes right, can someone else please chime in ? I'm new to these later C3 Corvettes but, not to cars.

Thanks for the education on the date code! Sorry it will not work for you. I'll root around in the shop, I took another 81 apart a year or so ago and may still have the alternator.
