WTB: Four Goodyear F70-15 White letter
I am looking for four reproduction Goodyear raised white letter F70-15 tires. These are for a 1971.
Thanks,
George

The reproduction Goodyear tires are correct for judging. The Firestones are not correct.
You can buy the Goodyear tires new from Kelsey Tires. They are VERY expensive.

I am not going to get the car judged. But I remeber see my "new" back in the 70's and I remember the Goodyears that were on it at that time. I could put the Firestones on it but it just wouldn't seem right. I priced the Goodyears from Kelsey Tires and they are about $1,000.
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
I just wanted to let you know I understand your feelings about the brand of tires that you remember on your car.
My 71 came with the Firestone tires which back then I was pleased about since I liked their appearance.
When I was getting my car ready to be Flight Judged I would have preferred to buy the GoodYear tires because as Bill related they are a bit more accurate.
I HAD to buy the Firestone tires though because that's what my memory of the car is. An old picture. And a new one. I do think the Firestones are pretty but are poor to drive on.
Regards,
Alan

Cool pictures. I am a Firestone fan and I agree that they are nicer looking tire. I am going drop the spare today and see what I find.

Hi George,
The words "WIDE OVAL" were SUCH a big deal in the late 60s and early 70s.
Good Luck as you look for the GoodYears.
I think you find some since I do see them for sale on occasion.
They, (and the Firestones), are just SO lousy to drive on.
Regards,
Alan
