WTB Alum BB intake
I am looking for an aluminum, oval port, square bore intake for a 427. Preferably a Weiand Stealth or Elelbrock. Someone put a Weiand rectangle port intake on oval port heads!!! So the best senerio for me would be to trade the rec. one for an oval one. If not, then I will just buy the oval one if anyone has one to sell or trade. 540-520-3418

How in the world could the air/fuel mixture flow good when it tries to go through a square port into an oval one? I find that VERY hard to believe without some proof. Dynos don't lie!!!!

badrad is correct. There have been several threads on this. My car is this way and each time a thread like this comes up, some members say this is what they're doing. If you were having trouble, it wasn't because of the mis matched intake. Someone on here explained it once. It had to do something with added turbulence and fuel atomization blah, blah, blah.... The bottom line is it will work fine for the street and you might pick up a few hundredths at the strip. Make sure to use the rectangle port gasket. If I recall correctly, someone here had some racing experience and did post dyno results and on some combinations, the rectangle port intake on oval port heads showed an improvement.

I was not having any problems with the intake. The motor spun a rod bearing and destroyed itself. That was 75 miles after I bought the car!!! The previous owner did give me $2500 back so that was a start financially on the new motor. I am having it rebuilt as we write and it is scheduled to be on the dyno once completed. I will have them get the numbers with both a square port Weiand intake and the new Edlebrock RPM air gap intake. That will prove it once and forall. I've got $100 on the Edelbrock!!!! I may have to eat my words, and I will if need be, but I will post the results. Should be fairly soon.

Does anyone know of those dyno results that Bigblock69 is referring ? I would love to see em if available. It would save me the money I will have to pay my engine guy (Terry Walters in Roanoke, Va.). Thanks
