1982 CE Back Glass with hinges, latch, etc. $750
New Price $550
Price Reduction to $750 - want it gone before the snow flies!
I have a back-halfed 1979 with the back half being a 1982 CE. For sale is the glass, hinges, latch, release cable, etc. You can take the entire back half if you wish, fenders are decent, no rear bumper.
will need the through-bolts replaced or refinished.
This really has to be a pickup only, due to the fragile nature of the glass.
I am asking $750.00 for all. I am in Marshall, MI 49068 Just off of interstate 94. 3 hours east of downtown Chicago, 1.5 hours west of Detroit, 3 hours north of Indy.

I really don't know. I see some brackets that are riveted in place, not sure how the opening differs from a car with bonded in glass. Perhaps the forum can tell us?

I did a search and there were a few threads on it but none of them described in detail what was required. One mentioned a bit of welding to install the hinges and none of them mentioned any mods to the fiberglass to make it work.

Could you elaborate? Does it require modifications to the fiberglass around the window, i.e. cutting out a few inches of the fiberglass around the 79 and 82 CE rear window and patching the 82 window opening into the 79?

Pieces need to be graphed on to the halo, the rear tub area for the latches and 99 times out of 100, the hinges are bent/tweaked and the window gasket is different and it don't fit good and leaks like a screen door and is generally a pain in the rear to do.

You're not forthcoming which makes it obvious your goal in responding to my comment was not to explain what was involved in making the conversion but rather to discourage other people from buying this by trying to make it sound more complicated than it is. Hence the vague reference to "grafting" pieces on the halo(sounds mysterious) rather than referring to the simpler act of pop riveting them on the roof and wheel wells.
I should buy this just out of spite.

It is not an easy deal. I really don't want OR need the thing at all. Just nice to have extra parts for my C.E. Take a look in the 1982 AIM or GM parts book and it will show all the parts to do it. I cannot type all that it takes to install this in your car. Buy it out of spite if you choose. Didn't mean to **** you off, it just takes a bit more than drills & rivets.

109 miles to Windsor, hmm.......is there any way to get some pics of the entire rear section to see how I could trailer it. This would be perfect for the C3 trailer idea I've been knocking around for a few years.
