Default WTT (or buy) good 3.70 GM gears for good 3.36 GM gears

Title says it, I have a really nice set of OEM GM 3.70 gears that I intended to set up in my differential but decided I would really be happier with 3.36's. The 3.70s are take-outs from Ikerds. They keep all the best sets from their rebuilds, this is one of those sets that I bought because I wanted GM gears. Looking for good OEM GM 3.36 set to trade that is still in good shape with no rust/pitting/chipped teeth/excessive wear/etc.

Conversely if you have a good set of 3.36 OEM GM gears for sale I might be interested in just purchasing them as well.

thanks

Hi Hib

Do you still have the 3:36 gears. At you can see I can use them

Hello, Bonjour, and Good Afternoon,

Day 6 I thought you would be tired of looking at my car's rear end.

Picture taken in Nice, France on Corvette Vagabond 's European Tour.
Well I found the problem. Failed bearing of pinion gear or Posi Unit its self. The pinion gear was able to move forward hitting Posi causing damage and pieces breaking off.

The fact that I was only going 10 mph saved my car from extensive damage had it let go at 70 mph. Nothing left to do but replace the unit. I will be looking to put a 3:36 in instead of the current 3:70 which is more inline with my high speed driving on highways in the US and Europe.

Thanks for coming along. I will keep you posted on further work on car as I put it back together.

Patient

Taking out bolts caps off but that will not help take out Posi

Pieces of Posi

Time to replace the unit, here is bearing difficult to see but a mess

Looks like my 3.70:1 GM gears are now for sale if anyone is interested. I'll put pics up later and probably create a FS thread. Shoot me a PM if interested.

thanks
