Default WTB '79 Non-cruise turn signal lever

Mine snapped and no vendors carry it. '79 C3 without cruise. The lever just pops in and out of the column itself. It seems to be exclusive to a '79 without cruise. I suspect that the majority of the '79 were autos with cruise. Mine is a 4-speed.

I have not, I'll contact him. Thanks for the referral, I'd never heard of him.

He's got it on his website for $32.50, NOS GM stock.

I found it! Ordered it last night, was about $45 shipped. That should look better than the screw driver I have in there now.

Hmm, Dr. Rebuild canceled my order with this message:

Since various non-Corvette chat rooms have claimed that we have a directional levers for non-Corvette - several non-Corvette owners have bought this part and been disappointed that is not exactly what they wanted.

Therefore to eliminate needless returns – this lever is only available via a prepay using a US POSTAL SERVICE MONY ORDER. No personal checks, no bank checks, no credit cards, no paypal.

If you want this part that is the only way it is sold. Please DO NOT call or email to argue – this is final.
I think I'm going to hold off on buying from him to see if I can locate another option. Seems like he's been given the run-around with bad buyers, which is no fun at all. The $45 (with shipping) price tag was a bit steep but I was okay with that since it was convenient. Now that I'd need to visit the post office and do a money order, it isn't quite worth my while.

Give Brian at Bair's Corvette a call. I bet he can help you.

Yeah, the good Dr. can be a real handful at times, and maybe you will have luck elsewhere. But the quality and originality of his merchandise has always been worth the effort to me.

I'm not gonna turn this into a vendor face-off. Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for.

I called and talked to Brian, friendly folks over there. They're seeing if they can locate the lever for me.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't doubt that the part is actually NOS GM and worth the price to someone, just not sure its worth the $45 and a trip to the post office for me. Honestly, I might be fine just running a screw driver in there for a while

My car is nowhere near the quality where it makes sense to spend coin on bringing it back to correct

Bair's called me back today, no luck. I'm still on the hunt for that turn signal lever if anyone has one. I have a screw driver in there that will get me by for quite a while

Does it look like this? I`m not sure if this is turn lever, or tilt...

No response? Did you find your lever? I was able to dig these out of the parts pile....one of them may be better than a screwdriver?

Sorry about that! Yesterday was a crazy day. Spent most of my time getting the car on the road, then went down to see Roadkill film an episode at EBC brakes in Las Vegas:

I actually got compliments on my screw driver turn signal lever!

Here is my old broken lever:

It was actually in good condition before it broke. The closest one you have is that cruise lever. That would pop into the socket on my column, but its not quite right. It would be better than a screw driver, though. What's your price with shipping to 89074?

I keep forgetting to come back and update this thread. oldgto gave me a great deal on a cruise lever that works fine. It says cruise and has a button that I don't use, but it'll work!

Thanks oldgto!
