Default 1st gen Power Brute Super T10 with Hurst Ramrod vertical gate shifter complete.

This is a 1974 trans. It is the Over The Counter close ratio 2.43 first with high nickel gearset and Iron case and tailhousing. 1st gen is the 10 spline input, 26 spline output It turns smooth and quiet, shifts perfect and the Hurst Ramrod vertical gate linkage is clean, tight and solid. Chrome is nice, a couple tiny pits, original Hurst T handle and boot. It is all there and complete. Shifts like butter. This is really rare and next to impossible to find. This was in the trunk of a 1975 Monza with the factory Can Am body and V8. Wrapped in plastic and in storage since 1978. I don't believe it needs rebuilding, I pulled the front retainer and side cover it had white Assembly lube visable and seal looked new. Gears and syncros look perfect and it spins smooth and quiet. Will need a side cover and front retainer gasket since I removed them. It was a buddies project that passed away. These shifters complete in this condition are over $1000 as is the trans. Set is for sale for $1800 you pay for crating and shipping. Figured I would throw it on here before it hits Ebay. Email me if interested. I will get some photos up ASAP, probably Tuesday. These Iron case, high nickel gear trans were capable of way more torque and HP than any of the aluminum case units until AutoGear came up with the supercased units. I think with a 4.11 it will handle 5-600 HP and the RamRod will shift faster than any manual trans you will find.

Put one of those in my 67 Camaro back in 1969 when the stock trans was stolen.
With 4.11 gears I could pull the front left tire off the ground.
Loved it and that car........

Good luck with your sale......

You can really powershift this setup, no missed shifts, no case flex. I had a Mr Gasket vertigate in my 67 camaro. This is the original Hurst RamRod. Seems way heavier duty.

No "H" pastern on the shifter. Starting in first you pull back for second, forward for third, back for fourth. No missed shifts. To downshift from 4th you go forward for third, lift black finger lever while pulling back for second, hold black finger lever up and push forward for first. These shift through the gears way faster than a standard linkage. Trans looks new inside. Gears and syncros are pristine. There is just the boot available on Ebay now for $650.

RebelSS1968 it is yours. The shifter arms coming out of the sidecover and tailpiece are clocked 45 degrees toward the back. Muncie is straight up and down. I believe you can buy the arms through Hurst. As far as I know the shifter rods themselves are the same BW / Muncie.

Randy - let me know how your installation goes. I have a Mr. Gasket Vertical gate going on a Muncie in my '68 but it is a LONG way off from that. Make a post with pix so we can see how it goes for you! Good luck!
