Funky bolt in the rear bumper assembly of 74
I am putting a 74 back together after a frame-off and I'm having a little trouble figuring out the strange energy absorbing bumper assembly that they used for ONLY that year.
I have the Dave Graham, Factory Assembly Manual on disk, but that part seems a little vague.
Any ideas? Pictures? Links?

Picture 13 of 27 shows it pretty well. This was the first and a 1 year design for impact absorbing bumpers on the C3. 75 and on had hydraulic cylinders that bolted into the rear of the frame.

I thought it was just a guide but from the photo, it's obviously a sacrificial part.
I guess I have to take it all apart now and put it together correctly.
