1970 Corvette LS5 Engine Found
Hi Guys-In a search for the missing LS5 for my 1970 Chevelle SS, I came across an LS5 from a 1970 Corvette. Knowing how coveted the right block is to me, I thought I would post it on a couple of Corvette forums in case any body needs the code, date or even the VIN stamp!

Do you own this engine and you are selling it?
Ad needs an asking price here in the For a Sale section, per forum rules, please.
However, please post your engine in the ORPHAN VIN stamped parts thread at the top of the Main C3 page, in the Sticky section. That's where we try to reunite VIN marked stuff with the cars.

Is this it? http://www.velist.net/v/1970-stingray-corvette
If so it looks like it went on Ebay 4 months ago and was being sold by a Trevor Short. Try calling 888-447-0268 and see if they know where the car went.
It says it's only got 7 miles which is silly...

I hope you find your engine. I fondly remember my dad's Green with Gold SS stripes rag top 70 Chevelle SS 454; he was incredibly lucky enough to have an all #'s matching, frame-off resto car. -We drove from NW Indiana to Orlando, FL to get it when I was in 3rd grade; my mom made him take us to Disneyland, but he got his Chevelle.
He sold it around 1999 or 2000 for a song; it about tripled in value over the 10 years after he sold it. Unfortunate color scheme for such a beast of a car.
