When was your car built? Both the single hinge pin design and split hinge pin design locks were used in production in 1968. The solid pin design was used until late April, after that they were split pin.
Either design will work with the soft top hold down pins. If you have a hardtop you have to use the split pin design if you have the long studs that were used starting in late 68+ to hold them down.
I wouldn't get to hung up on finding the 3942775 part number. I have seen that number used with both the single and split hinge pin lock designs. GM service replacements I think.

Hope all is well with you. Thanks for your reply to my want ad - much appreciated. The number on my broken latch is (from what I can tell - numbers are somewhat faded) GM 3915797
My '68 is an early built model.
I did see that latch listed on eBay - was hoping to find one in a little better condition wise.
