Default western superlite / minlites wanted

Howdy everyone It is 22 degrees here in tropical Connecticut....

I am looking for a set of Western Suerlites. These are the spoked wheels that look like Minilites. I had them on a 68 some years ago, and now want them for my latest project.

I need either 2 - 10" x 15" and 2 - 8" x 15", or 4 - 8" x 15"

I prefer to find a set in the Northeast. I found a set on ebay, but the seller was in California, and unwilling to measure the bolt pattern or backspacing. Said he offered them on ebay multiple times, and that he had them for over 30 years, collecting dust in his garage. Wonder why he couldn't sell them.....

Please let me know if you have a set (2 or 4) for sale. I have a set of 4 15 x 7.5 Ansens, or 4 15 x 8 Corvette Rally's if anyone is interested as a trade..

Thanks!

Link didn't work on my computer. You may want to confirm it again and make sure you "embed" it, don't copy and paste it.
Good luck with your search.

I!
Greenwood raced on 4 lug magnesium Minilites he bought from Penske and had modified to fit the 5X4-3/4 bolt pattern, this is well documented. I have this set of Minilites from an original Owens-Corning built car but I would hate to be responsible for giving you a heart attack

A heart attack is about the only problem I haven't had over the past few years...knock on my wooden head..

You gave me an idea. I should be able to do the same thing as Greenwood did, use 4 lug wheels and have the 4 3/4" bolt circle bored through them. There are lots of 15" minilites around, but 99% are 4 lug.

New Minilites can still be had. They are now made in aluminum, but faithful to the original. I have a set of these for my '69 Z28.

There is also a company that makes repros in true magnesium if your budget allows.

Hi Neil

Thanks. Yes, I have gotten quotes from both Minilite and Panasport, and they were not unreasonable at all. Just a bit of along lead time..

So, in addition to being a cheapskate, I am also impatient.

I'm sure the price of the magnesium ones will truly give me heart failure.

Yes, it's a long wait since they are made in England. I think I waited 3 months for mine. I can say though that if I were ever going to sell mine, my asking price would be similar to what new ones go for because of the U.S. availability issue. I'm not sure what the market would bear, but I've never seen a used set worth buying.

300-330 < I assumed that's us funds > per tire shipped, price various abit depending on colour, offset etc, considering I live in Canada, too much for me, I have to add 30% exchange rate and 12% taxes.

Woo-Hoo

Finally bought a set of Western Superlites...2 each 15 x 7, 2 each 15 x 8.

I will have ONE extra 15 x 7 wheel when I am done. I will sell it to someone who needs it $1 million, or best reasonable offer....OK, haha. Not a million.

Team III wheels makes something that is pretty close, and they have quite a few sizes as well.

i'm looking at these for my 73 Camaro project.

I'll upload some pics later in other thread that has pics of cars with them on
