i have a 7029215. dated 2258 total rebuilt and ready to go. I got this carb from a forum member. I was told it's a restamp but I don't know!!!! Asking 450.00 plus shipping from Allentown pa 18103. Thanks Dustin

I think a 68 date like that would have been dated on the base as opposed to the body.

There is a date stamped in base also

Yes for 68 the date was stamped on the base not the carb body.

Not for all of 1968. Late 68 carbs made in December had it stamped on the body.

If the date on the bottom matches the date on the barrel then I cannot see how it matters. Date code 2258 is August 12, 1968. Production ended in August 1968 for the 68's; Started in September for the 69's. I believe you are looking at a good example of mixed parts between years. I have no proof it is an added stamp, but like I said, if both date codes match why would I care?

Price for a rebuilt 69 is $450. Sounds like a good deal to me.
