Big Block Chevy GM 454 crate motor, 3000 miles old, $2600.
Please email me at 6BRL427@optonline.net if you're interested.
I recently bought a new big block '68 to customize, and I already have a new 540 to put into it, so I don't need the 454 crate engine that came in the car. It's in very good condition, with only about 3000 miles on it. It runs great, no problems at all.
It's a Gen V H.O. 454, 425HP, purchased new in 1996. Part number 10185058. 8.75 compression ratio, the Cam is 220/220@.050, 115LSA, .500 lift. GM aluminum dual plane intake, GM "088" rectangular port heads. The carb is a Holley 750CFM vacuum secondary with electric choke, the distributor is a GM HEI that's been converted for use with the mechanical Corvette tach (this dist. sells for over $500 from any of the Vette suppliers). A Vette short water pump is also included. This whole package cost around $5000 new, I'll sell it for $2600. Sorry, but there's no way I can ship this monster. :D It will have to be picked up in NJ (I can help you move it if you don't have a truck).
425HP
8.75 compression ratio
Cam: 220/220@.050, 115LSA, .500 lift.
GM aluminum dual plane intake
GM "088" rectangular port heads
Cam info: This hydraulic flat tappet "454" is a good street high-performance and marine cam used in the Gen V 454 H.O. engine P/N 10185058. (Advanced five degrees; use spring P/N 3970627.) The duration at lash point in degrees (intake/exhaust) is 328/324; duration at .050" tappet lift (intake/exhaust) is 220/220; and maximum lift with 1.7:1 rocker ratio (intake/exhaust) is 500/500. Valve lash is zero/zero and lobe centerline is 115 degrees.
I only drove the car one time for about 50 miles with this engine, but that was enough to know that it runs great and doesn't have any problem. The previous owner (since it was new in 96) was "ERND IT" on the forum.
FYI, I'll sell the engine for $2200 without the Holley carb or HEI distributor, or $2600 ready to run as you see it in the pictures (I have the plug wires, but they're pretty dirty).
