Default another way to search this forum

The search on this forum leaves a lot to be desired. For example I tried searching for the string "ls6" on the forum search and it turns up nothing. Tonight I tried searching the site with google and it works.

To search only within this site in google type in:
search-word site:forums.corvetteforum.com

So to search this site for ls6 type in:
ls6 site:forums.corvetteforum.com

This finds 2,440 pages in the forum.
To restrict the search to only 2005 just add 2005
ls6 2005 site:forums.corvetteforum.com

To search for the words ls6 and intake together in one string:
"ls6 intake" site:forums.corvetteforum.com

I've been frustrated with the forum search for some time and at least this gives another way to look for past info.

thanks for the search help!!

I noticed that when I search I either receive new threads or very old (pre 2001) mostly. It appears that many of the post from the 2002-2003 era are not showing up.

Have we ever got any information from a mod on why the search function is so bad or if it the site ever plans to fix it? Old threads are a gold mine of information....if only we could mine it.

Remeber when searching with Google and other search engines that there data is delayed. They scan the internet periodicly and update the search databases. How long? Some times a month or so sometimes a few days.

So they won't have the most up to date info. But they are great for searching for old threads.

ttt

If I have one complaint about this forum it's the search, or lack of it.
