Default Engine Upgrade

Looking at upgrading my motor using the following specs on the AFR web page:
AFR 195cc street heads
AFR Flow Power intake manifold
Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller Cam #12-433-8
1 3/4” Headers

I was wondering:
1. If this will result in a significant power increase from what I have now (see signature)
2. What make of 1 3/4" headers would work best with my Corvette and these heads. I have power steering and a TH350.

Shouldn't be multi-tasking too many things at once.
Signature attached...

In the quarter mile, perhaps. In the seat-of-the-pants? No.

My wife came up with it. It sounds like a "bête" with the Magnaflows on it!

This is just about where I want mine in the 1/4 mile.

I'm currently running a best of 13.3 with the street tires at street pressure.

Spend about $40 on a desktop dyno program. You can play with a variety of setups to get what you want, then buy the stuff that you designed. I did this with my 383 and it dyno'd exactly like the program predicted. The motor is awesome; now for the tranny. Good luck

I definitely plan on doing getting some DD software, mainly to see where my current combination is. I also want to change the heads for weight, detonation (I'm running 10.3:1 comp.) and servicability. I currently have to remove the headers to change the plugs, have a hard time even getting many of the plug wires on/off, and regularly (once every 3000 miles) burn out a plug wire due to the plug location WRT the headers. Hence my "Which headers work?" question. I also have a buyer for the Iron Eagles. They will be going into a demolition derby motor.

The reason I like this setup is that AFR has an actual dyno graph for it on their web site. C3 Stroker's numbers seem to be about the same as AFR's.

I'm running a close combo on my 383, except with a hydraulic .541/.544 cam. AFR 195s, port matched Victor Jr. and close to 500fwhp and 500+ should be easy for you with the AFRs. Hooker Super Comp headers should work fine, but they hang kinda low..so if your car is lowered...just watch out.

Redshark,

Nice engine bay! Speaking of headers hanging low, my left header got a bit crushed when I was blinded by sunlight, missed a driveway and climbed a curb on one side. I only have about 3 1/2" of clearance with my current headers.
