CSR throttle bracket
Hey I have the following CSR throttle bracket
Problem is the bracket has the square hole for 73 or newer throttle cables with the square plastic snap in "stopper". My 68's throttle cable has the round metal piece and I had to improvise but when I push the linkage back to the point where I get both promary/ secondaries open it puts pressure on the wire which at idle causes the idle to surge to 1100RPM versus 900RPM with the throttle cable disconnected (thats with 2 strong throttle return springs) or if I move the cable closer than I don't get the secondaries fully open. I need a throttle cable that fits the OEM square plug "stopper" design and not sure if the 24" LOKAR will work. Anyone out there with this bracket???? Please let me know.
Here's how this stock cable fits on a stock carb setup.

I tried that one and couldn't get it to work. Have a bracket for an L-46 w/4sp. Bought one from The Last Detail a few years ago #3972627

Throttle Cable Bracket, Billet Aluminum, Red Anodized, Holley/Barry Grant/Demon, fits GM Cable, Each
Here is the answer to throttle cable and return spring mounting problems. These rugged brackets are designed to withstand the rigors of all-out competition or street use by providing a secure mounting for a cable with a return spring or an inline throttle control. Each bracket is machined from a single piece of billet 6061-T6 aluminum, and includes a notched tab for mounting the return spring. The brackets have a high luster, anodized finish for lasting beauty and corrosion protection.

This cable seems to be the one, Vettes 75-79. If you blow it up you see it has the plastic square stopper which should fit the CSR linkage.

Hmmm, yours looks different, David. My bracket has a hole in it with a set screw on top and also the cable has adjustment nuts and it all works together nicely. Sorry, looks like yours requires something a little different.

Couple of things.
The Lokar unit comes with its own bracket for its appropriate cable. At least that's the way you should buy it.
The earlier GM corvettes and Muscle cars use what is called a MORSE style cable.
Doc Rebuild sells a cable bracket that will work with holley style carbs to work with the MORSE style round cables.
There are different types of cable mounts available for those billet throttle cable mounts. Most mfg or companines sell them with the square cable mount. If you want the MORSE style cable mount then you have to buy it seperately. Call CSR and see if they sell that style mount. If not I know of a place where you can get that mount to work with that bracket, because this company makes them for everyone else, as a private label piece.

Yes, You need either a GM style square mount cable, or a MARINE style bracket for a morse type cable. I have both of these types of brackets, a GM style for the Vette and a Morse style for the boat. they work well if you have the right type.

Thanks all. Today I bought the 75-81 OEM bracket which has the square flange "stopper" which should work. CC was out of stock so Ecklers gouged me for $74 for a 12" cable. I didn't want to replace anything on the other side of the firewall as it is all new (pedal, linkages all the way up to the rod to cable connections).
