Default DragVette Track Results - TECH

OK, I finally got out and did some testing on the DragVette kit with a set of Hoosier 26x9" D05 compound slicks.

Traction was not a problem, dead hook every time.

The air was not very good today with a DA of 5300-5400 feet

The good news is, the 60' is DEAD ON consistent. Here are the four runs I made all with in 25 minutes of each other so the density altitude would not be a factor.

...........1...........2...........3.... .......4...........
60'.......1.699.....1.704......1.709.... .1.707
330'.....4.910.....4.933......4.927..... 4.930
1/8......7.602.....7.630......7.626.....7. 619
1000'....9.943.....9.967.....9.973...... 9.951
1/4.......11.942...11.958....11.969....11. 936

MPH ranged from 112.5-113.5 today, weight was ~3650lbs.

I would have to say in this case alone the kit is doing what it is supposed to, and the car appears to be pretty consistent so I am going to try the Pro ET brackets next week.

A picture from the track. It looks like the weight is transferring well.

Here is a video of the 11.942 run:

I uploaded it to http://www.putfile.com so it should work now.

*Video Note* Just so you don't get the wrong idea, there were only 4 people in the stands.

Very nice! Aside from your Drag vette kit is the Rear suspension stock? or if there are Any upgrades done to it what are they? I got a 355 that I might be putting nitrous on to try to get low 12's this summer. but well see.

Tumarr Thanks, the rear end is stock, I believe the differential is the original with 150,000 miles on it... so we'll see when she goes...

I have upgraded to Spicer solid u-joints and the car already had the u-joint caps. The rear gear is 3.55. I am running Royal Purple MAX Gear 85-140W in the differential.

I have also installed the Guldstrand solid differential mounts.

The car sounds great and I don't think you could be more consistent. Congrats on the times.

1970-Bronze The rear spring is the F41 7 leaf steel spring, the front springs are the F41 (man I hope I have that code right for "Gymkahna"). Shocks are KYB Gas-A-Just shocks.
Nothing special.

Mike Thanks, the DragVette kit comes with spherical rod end strut rods, and a block to lower the strut rod mount, and all the required fasteners.

It drives great on the street, feels stable and it hooks harder too.

Wayne The car is running good, I had to replace the valvesprings last week so I am glad everything made it through the weekend. I am concerned about how much of this the rear end can take, I guess it will let me know when it's done.

Yes, the track has very nice stands, they are behind the camerman. http://www.raceimsp.com is the website, you can see for yourself....

One more thing, are those the "quiet" mufflers you were talking about ?

Wayne Yes, those are the quiet mufflers, and no I wasn't kidding you! At idle and part throttle just driving around they are very quiet, when you get on the gas, they get pretty loud. The key is "inside the car" it is quiet, if your behind it, I am sure it is a little louder. I had two people mention they were suprised how quiet it was idleing and putting around.

I like em.

Yea I guess they are pretty quiet at idle, I might try them after I try the Dynomax Super Turbos this weekend. I hope they sound OK if not off they come
