Default Radiator

Hi All

I have to replace the rad in my 1980 L82....
is the rad different or the same for the L48 - L82?
And is the rad support the same for both?
Thanks Barry

According to Corvette Central all 80-82 vettes have a 2" thick , 3 row brass radiator. Also the supports are the same for 76L-82. There was a guy who posted earlier about saving or trashing his 81 radiator. Ask, maybe he will sell it to you?

There are differences depending on transmission and A/C. Automatic and A/C generated more heat and thus were equipped with larger capacity radiator. I'm on the road and don't have specifics (at the NCM) but can get back to it tomorrow.

My local auto shop told me they only have one listing
for a 1980 rad. I'm thinking it might be some aftermarket
generic rad that fits all ($215.00). Speed shop want's $750.00
for aluminum rad.
I can get mine recored for $200.00, think I'll go that way.
Found a rad support from local corvette wrecking yard for $250.00.
I'm good to go.
Thanks Barry
