Fan belt routing
I think I'm losing my mind. I can't remember the correct fan/alt/power steering pump belt routing for my 1970 350ci LTI - no a/c, manual trans -
The only way the belts seem to fit is as follows:
Alternator: belt goes around the crank pully (on rear groove), around fan pully and around alt pulley.
Power Steering: belt goes around crank pully (on front groove) and around PS pump pulley.
Is that right?
thanks!

Just came back from autozone with the PS and alt belt for my 70 L-46. The LT1 and L46 have the same belts. Your thinking is correct with the alt routing. The ps belt also goes around the wp pulley and crank.. The only thing you have That I don't is the smog pump belt, which I think has a single pulley, and runs to the crank?(3 groove) The wp pulley is 2 groove.

Which way should the ps pump rotate?

Here is a picture of my 72 LT1 without the smog pump. You can figure out the rotation from the fan. Hope this helps. Looking at it from the front it goes clockwise.
The smog belt runs from the WP to the smog pump. It is a seperate pulley on the water pump.
