Default Removing windshield trim

So i figured how to remove the trim running from the bottom of the windshield to the top, how do i get the stuff around the top off? Also how hard is it to remove the chrome pieces that run along the top of the windshield and attach to the centerbar?
Trying to clean up my windshield frame...
Thanks,
Chad

I wish I could tell you, I removed all mine in a drunken stupor and just started unscrewing everything. Of course in my drunken stupor I busted my windshield. Be very very carefull or be very very sober, better yet be BOTH!

Good luck.

Thanks folks,
Yeah i read that Windshield install before, it just doesn't give me a good enough idea about that top trim to start yanking at it from any direction.
I have the passengers side off and am cleaning up some minor rust, no major rust! thank goodness. But i spent some time trying to pull the top stuff of with no success...

Do you have the right tool to spread the retainer clips? They are reasonably priced and will save the trim and the glass.

The tool is called amazingly, a trim removal tool. See link. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=38386 . It's the second from the right in that picture. Most autoparts stores should have one.
