Default Headlights only work on High-Beam

O.K., I finally got headlights that pop-up, know they only work on High-Beam???? The marker lights work on high or low beam.
Any suggestions???

Bad or disconnected high beam switch on the column. That is where I would start looking.

check the stupid one first, make sure your lamps are good. I got stuck on that a while back. Do the bright lights go out when you put them on Low?

so the switch is partially working, look at the schematic, I can't remember if there is a relay or not. If there is thats where to go, if not its the switch.
After of course you make sure the lamps are ok, check for 12v at the low beam connector

Check for 12V first. No use in running yourself ragged only to find out you had two burned out headlights.

The headlights on my 79 would flicker off when I would switch from high to low beams, with a time frame of approx. 30 to 45 seconds duration. It ended up being the headlight switch itself. I would almost bet that it is the light switch it self versus the switch in the steering column. Just remember if you are doing any trouble shooting that involves the headlight switch it is HOT, so disconnect the battery. Hope this helps Gary B.

If the Corvette has been seting around just turn on the low beam lights and take the plug on and off the bulb and they may start to work.
