Anyone running one of those Dart raised cam, big cube, small blocks at 454 or 427?

I really liked my 427 small block. The crank shaft broke so I'm going to probaly end up with the 441 ci. It could then be bored out several times before becoming a 454.

My 427 small block Vette would just eat my friends 427 hot rodded big block 67 Camero. His Car and my lightened Vette might have simular weight. I had solid roller, 3500 stall with 4.11 and 4 speed OD. He has solid cam 3000 stall TH400 with 3.55 rear gears. Both cars are traction limited on street tires. any rolling start race or even side by side freeway from 60 - to off the end of my 140 speedo i just walked awy from him.

So IMO - CI is CI no matter if it's big block or small block

Dart Iron Eagle has the raised cam, I will be going that route in my next build, you need special timing cover, timing set, oil pan etc. going to be expensive stuff

No, I have the Motown (world products) My small journal optioned block costs about $2300. IMO - now that i broke my crank shaft and suffer block damage. My advice is it would have been worth buying the highly repairable aluminum block for just a couple of thousand more.

Is it true you need to let them warm up for a good 15-20 minutes?
