Default #s for rear, engine block, and intake

Did some serious undercar cleaning last night and found some numbers on my '69 I need help with:

What I was told was a '91 vintage GM crate engine has 101040FH on the plate on the front of the block over the timing cover and has the following on the side of the block below the driver's side cylinder head above the oil filter mount:

K14
445
HI PERF
PASS

The block has a raised bowtie emblem under the cylinder head on the passenger side.

GM hi-rise aluminum intake has 6269318 stamped just in front of the distributor hole.

Rear end has 1AT 7 1969 stamped on it.

This car is very fast! The engine has cast iron heads but can't find the number on them; where would it be? I think the car has a 3.36 posi but it could be a 3.08 rear, which is it? I'm wondering if the engine numbers reveal anything else other than it's a crate motor (when made?, which generation 454: IV or V?, cam?, heads?). And, lastly, what engine/car did the intake come from or was it used on. As always thanks for your help and replies!

You gotta pull the valve cover to get the # for the heads.

Thanks guys! I'll check the back of the block tonight since I'll be changin to poly motor mounts (hopefully for good!). New valve covers on the way later this week so will check the heads then. Was told that I have the rectangular ported heads; where 'under the covers' are the numbers and what should they be for these heads? Since they are lighter, are the aluminum ones better? :D

I was able to get my head numbers by looking thru the oil fill... Maybe you'll get lucky

Got the poly motormounts in last night. Between the headers and the steering linkage, what seemed like an hour long job ended up taking me 5 hours instead! :(

pats406nitrovette - Found the number 10051107 on the driver's side rear of the block which was the first one you gave me. Got any info on it?

Well, I drove the vette to work today to get new BFG TA's mounted (275-60-15s rear, 255-60-15s in front) and to get me a new fan since the broken motormount dinged mine up on the shroud-mounting boltheads! :mad :cuss Got a criuse-in to go to Saturday so she has to be ready! :D :D

Anyone know anything about the intake? As always, thanks for the help!

Mark, How do the 255 60 R15's on the front fit under the fenderwells? Is there a clearance problem?

Sounds like a good motor set-up! You will see head numbers cast into the top of the heads as well as a date.

Regards, mark
