Default 78 Rear window SS trim polish or replace?

The SS trim around the rear window of my 78 is really dull, should I replace it or try to polish?

Tape off the window and paint to protect (tape and painters paper). Then use 0000 steel wool to polish (available at Sears hardware, Home Depot, Lowes). Keep the wool flakes vaccumed off while working. Finish off with a quality metal cleaner/polish on a soft cloth (brasso, etc.). Peel the tape.

I have a 79 and want to do the same thing to mine, but I felt like the rear window trim on mine was aluminum. I don,t know for sure. Is the trim on the 78 Stainless Steel.

Thanks, Skip

They usually polish prettynicely, steel wool isgreat, a small buffing wheel is nice on a dremel, take your time, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
