Default Edelbrock Streetmaster Intake

Does anyone have any experience with the older edelbrock streetmaster single plane intakes. The one I am looking at is the low rise single plane with swept runners. I am considering this intake due to its low height so my stock 75 air cleaner will work. This intake will replace my performer intake which seems to drop off considerably in performance above 5000 rpm. The engine setup is a .020 over 350 with 9.7 comp, AFR 180 heads, comp 270 magnum cam and holley 650 model 4165. Will this intake gain me any noticable performance or would I just be wasting money with old technology.

I ran one of those new back in '78 on my 67 coupe. 350 with only 8.5:1 CR mild cam and headers, it ran great. I spoke with Edelbrock tech service about conparing the streetmaster to the performer and they said the performer was better up to 5500 RPM. So you may not feel much difference between them? Since it's now 26 years since I had that car to drive it may be just a faded memory on true performance.
If you can buy it for $30-$50 then try it and post the results. I haven't seen them in years.
